Notes that sound like you: Introducing Personalisation and smarter Templates

Today we're introducing Personalisation and smarter Template creation, two new features that help you create documentation that matches your individual style, whether it's adapting to your clinical voice or building templates through simple conversation.
Every clinician develops their own precise way of documenting. Their notes develop a rhythm, a structure that colleagues recognise instantly. But many scribes strip away everything that makes documentation distinctly theirs, replacing carefully crafted clinical voices with sterile, textbook language.
Founded by doctors who have experienced this pain first hand, we built Heidi because we believe technology should adapt to you, not the other way around. Today, we're taking that philosophy further with features that learn your personal style over time and let you build templates by simply describing what you need.
The scribe that learns your voice
Personalisation doesn't just transcribe, it adapts. Heidi tracks your edits whilst safely excluding patient data, automatically incorporating your preferred terminology, documentation style, and formatting.
Take a cardiologist who prefers specific terminology for procedures. Traditional scribes generate generic notes using standard medical terminology. Personalisation learns that this clinician always refers to "Type 2 diabetes mellitus" as "T2DM", automatically incorporating their preferred language into every note.
The personalisation happens automatically with no setup, no training sessions. It adapts your preferred medical language and abbreviations, learns your documentation structure and formatting style, and maintains continuity across all your patient encounters.
Template creation that actually works
Whilst Personalisation handles your individual style, our smarter Templates solve the other half of the equation by creating speciality-specific templates without the manual work.
Instead of complex form builders and training, just describe what you need.
- "Create a post-surgical follow-up template for orthopaedic procedures"
- "Build a mental health intake form for new patients"
- "Design a template for cardiology consultations with echo results"
Now, when you’re building templates, clinical context is understood templates are created that match your speciality's documentation requirements. Upload existing templates for Heidi to adapt, or start from scratch with a simple conversation.
For the templates you use most frequently, you can now pin up to five favourites for quick access. Whether it's your go-to consultation template or a specialised procedure note, pinned templates appear at the top of your template list.
When features work together
The real breakthrough happens when Personalisation and smarter Templates work together. Department heads can create standardised templates that ensure consistency across the team, whilst Personalisation ensures each clinician's individual voice still comes through in every note.
"When AI adapts to your personal style instead of forcing you into predefined boxes, you get documentation you actually want to use," says Dr. Thomas Kelly, Heidi's founder and CEO. "That's why we're seeing 60-80% adoption rates compared to the industry standard of 20-40%.”
See the difference for yourself
The best technology disappears into your workflow, amplifying your expertise rather than fighting it. Whether you want to preserve your clinical voice, quickly create speciality templates, or standardise documentation across your department, Personalisation and smarter Template adapt to where you are and where you want to go.
Smarter Templates are available now in General Availability. Personalisation is available now in Beta - join Heidi Labs for access.
