The Heidi iOS mobile app is your trusted companion for clinical work on the go. Use it to transcribe sessions, dictate and edit notes, and stay securely synced anytime, anywhere.
Getting Started
How do I download the Heidi app?
Download the Heidi app directly from the Apple App Store.
How do I create an account?
Open the Heidi app on your device.
Select “Sign Up” on the welcome screen.
Enter your email address and create a secure password.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your registration.
Which devices are supported?
Heidi requires iOS 17 or higher to run properly.
For optimal performance, iOS 18 is recommended.
Works on iPad, but browser version may better suit the workflow.
Face ID or PIN Setup:
Upon first login, you will be prompted to enable Face ID or create a secure PIN for added protection..
To enable or disable Face ID, or to update your PIN later, navigate to the Heidi app’s settings on your iOS device.
Getting Started with the Heidi App
Starting a new session:
Tap “New Session” on the home screen.
Enter the patient’s information as prompted.
Select the appropriate session template based on the clinical context.
Tap the Record button to begin. (A moving circle will indicate that recording is in progress.)
Managing a Session
Pause the recording at any time by tapping the Pause button.
Resume recording by tapping the button again.
Stop the session once complete to automatically generate clinical notes.
Dictating notes:
Utilize the keyboard dictation feature on your phone to dictate text within any field.
This new “dictate anywhere” feature operates differently from Heidi’s standard dictation function, which is not available on the iOS app.
To enable the Dictation feature on your iPhone:
Open the Settings.
Navigate to General > Keyboard.
Toggle on Enable Dictation.
This will allow you to use voice input to dictate text within the Context Tab.
Editing Notes and Templates:
Modify notes, templates, or voice settings directly within the app.
Use the Share icon to export notes to the desktop or web application for advanced editing and integration.
Adding patient context:
Additional patient information, documents, or images may be entered or uploaded via the Context tab either before or after recording a session.
Viewing and managing sessions:
Sessions are automatically saved and will appear in your session list.
To remove a session, swipe left on the desired entry.
Pull down on the screen to refresh and ensure all changes are synchronized.
Advanced Features
Operating in Offline Mode and Handling Network Interruptions
Sessions and note editing can be performed without an active internet connection.
All changes will automatically sync and notes will be generated once connectivity is restored.
Handling Incoming Phone Calls
Recording will continue during incoming calls unless the call is answered.
If answered, the session will automatically pause and resume once the call ends.
Multiple sessions:
You may initiate a new session immediately after stopping the previous one, even while the prior session is still processing in the background.
EHR Integrations:
This feature is available only to select providers with schedule integration. If you are uncertain whether this functionality is supported by your EHR system, please contact Heidi Health Support team for confirmation.
View upcoming scheduled sessions from your EHR directly within the app.
Submit clinical notes back to integrated EHR systems seamlessly from the app.
EHR integration setup is managed through the desktop or web application.
Account Management
How to reset your password:
Tap "Forgot Password?" on the login screen.
Enter your registered email address.
Follow the instructions sent to your email to complete the password reset process.
Note: If you are currently logged in using Face ID or a PIN, please log out before initiating the password reset process.
How to upgrade your subscription:
Subscription modifications can only be made through the web or desktop application.
Troubleshooting
App crashes and performance issues:
To address persistent app crashes, please delete and reinstall the application.
Ensure your device is updated to the recommended iOS 18 version to maintain optimal performance and compatibility.

Offline Mode. This feature is exclusively available on the mobile app and is not supported on the web or mobile browser, desktop application, or Chrome extension. It allows you to continue using Heidi without an active internet connection to ensure uninterrupted access to essential clinical tools while on the go.
