Case History: - The patient reports experiencing dizziness and imbalance for the past three months, particularly when standing up quickly. - The patient has a history of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) diagnosed two years ago. - Previous treatments included Epley maneuvers, which provided temporary relief. - The patient's mother also experienced similar vestibular issues. - Currently taking meclizine for dizziness. - No known allergies. Results of Balance Assessment: - Physical examination revealed unsteady gait and positive Romberg test. - Diagnostic tests showed abnormal caloric test results indicating unilateral vestibular hypofunction. - Abnormalities include nystagmus observed during head impulse test. - Patient's performance on balance tests was below average, with difficulty maintaining balance on one leg.
