Phimosis (physiological - no op) template

Issue: Phimosis - physiological Thank you for asking me to see John Doe regarding a non-retractable foreskin. He has no symptoms, nor history of infection. On examination the foreskin was within normal limits. There was no scarring or pathology such as balanitis xerotica obliterans. Both testes were in the scrotum. I explained the median age of full foreskin retraction is 10 years. This means half can retract before 10 years, and the other half after 10 years. Only 1% cannot retract the foreskin at puberty. For now I think he is safe and doesn't require treatment. The pain with urination is not related to the foreskin, but his holding behaviour, and waiting until the last minute to void. This results in referred pain from the bladder. Hygiene is achieved with soaking the foreskin in a bath or a small cup of water in the shower. After voiding, a piece of toilet paper can be used to wick away the little droplet of urine within the foreskin.
