He presented to me today with a three-month history of worsening lower back pain. The pain is described as a dull ache, radiating down the left leg, and is exacerbated by prolonged sitting and standing. He reports no recent injury but does have a history of similar episodes. Examination revealed reduced range of motion in the lumbar spine and a positive straight leg raise test on the left. We discussed conservative management, including over-the-counter analgesics and physiotherapy, but his symptoms have not improved.
