Progress Updates and Obstacles
PT is present for follow-up on next step goals and reassessment of nutrition plan. Since the last session, PT has made significant progress in managing their dietary habits. PT reports a weight loss of 3 kg and an increase in energy levels. PT has been consistent with their gym routine, attending sessions four times a week, and has increased their protein intake to 100 grams per day. However, PT has encountered challenges with meal planning due to a busy work schedule, leading to occasional reliance on fast food.
Solutions, Interventions, and Education
RD reviewed and updated weight, medications, supplements, labs, and progress above. PT's recent blood work showed improved cholesterol levels, with LDL cholesterol decreasing from 130 mg/dL to 110 mg/dL. RD educated PT on the importance of maintaining a balanced diet rich in fiber to continue improving cholesterol levels. RD also discussed the potential benefits of omega-3 supplements, which PT has started taking.
RD educated PT on the importance of meal prepping to overcome the challenge of a busy schedule. RD suggested dedicating time on weekends to prepare meals for the week, focusing on lean proteins, whole grains, and a variety of vegetables. RD provided PT with recipes for quick and healthy meals, including grilled chicken with quinoa and roasted vegetables.
PT's updated dietary recall includes oatmeal with berries for breakfast, a turkey sandwich with whole grain bread for lunch, and grilled salmon with steamed broccoli for dinner. RD educated PT on the benefits of incorporating more plant-based meals and suggested trying a lentil soup recipe.
PT might encounter obstacles such as unexpected work commitments that disrupt meal prep plans. RD and PT determined that having healthy snacks like nuts and fruit on hand could help mitigate this issue. RD also suggested using a meal delivery service for busy weeks.
RD reviewed and updated the nutrition plan and set the next step goals with a follow-up for 15 November 2024 to reassess PT progress, updated problems/solutions list, navigate obstacles, and make any medically necessary changes to the nutrition plan.
