Create Documents from Tasks, 100’s of New Templates and New Billing Codes

Heidi Team

19 November 2025•5 min read
November feature releases with tags for Tasks, Integrations, Forms, Coding, and Scheduling on a yellow background.

We've been busy building features that connect and orchestrate your entire workflow, so you can focus less on admin and more on what matters.

This month brings automatic document generation from Tasks, 100+ community Form templates, bulk patient schedule uploads, updated medical codes, and new EHR integrations to streamline your day even further. Read on to see how Heidi can save you hours in your week.

Auto-generate Documents from Tasks

A medical software interface displays patient health records on the left and a task list for medical actions on the right, with a mouse cursor over "Write referral for cardiologist."

Heidi's Tasks feature now includes Automatic Document Generation — turning action items into completed documents with one click. After capturing what needs to be done post-consult, each task can instantly generate the right document for you, from referral letters to patient explainers or handover documents. Move seamlessly from to-do to done with a single click.

A software interface displaying a "Template Community" with various medical form templates, showing creator details and filters.

Auto-fill structured PDF forms from your consultation in seconds using Heidi's community library of over 100 best practice forms available to add to your library. Access pre-built templates for Medicare claims, mental health care plans, insurance forms, and more — all shared by clinicians and curated by Heidi. No setup required, just select and complete.

Upload Patient Schedules

A software interface shows a file browser with "patient appointments.png" selected, and an arrow points to a "Start transcribing" button in the main window.

Save 10-20 minutes daily by uploading your patient schedule as a CSV or screenshot to create ready-to-go session drafts. Simply click "Upcoming," upload your schedule, and select sessions to start — no manual entry required. Plan ahead seamlessly alongside your EHR for smoother, more predictable workflows.

This feature is progressively rolling out and will appear on your account soon.

New Medical Codes

A digital medical note with highlighted text "Type 1 diabetes mellitus" and a pop-up showing the suggested ICD-10-CM code E10.9.

Heidi automatically suggests ICD-10-CM and CPT codes drawn directly from your documentation, ranked by relevance and flagged for review. Capture accurate billing codes as you document — reducing errors, speeding up workflows, and ensuring revenue opportunities aren't missed. Support compliance and complete funding capture across all your encounters.

Only available for US customers. Read more on Medical Coding to see what’s available in your region.

Telehealth on Heidi Web

Record and document telehealth consultations directly in your web browser alongside Heidi. Available now on Microsoft Edge and Chrome, simply start a session, select "Start Telehealth," and capture high-quality, uninterrupted audio while conducting your telehealth visit — all in one streamlined workspace without switching between tabs or platforms.

This feature is progressively rolling out and will appear on your account soon.

New Integrations

eClinicalWorks Integration via Vim
An illustration of data inputs converging into a command symbol, which connects to an eClinical Works screen showing a patient note.

Heidi now integrates with eClinicalWorks EMR through Vim middleware, enabling seamless clinical documentation directly within your EHR. The Heidi widget appears as a floating toolbar in eCW, allowing you to generate AI-powered clinical notes that sync directly back to patient records in real time. Eliminate manual note-taking and reduce documentation burden in ambulatory care settings.

Note: To access the eCW—Heidi integration, you must install Vim on your workstation first.

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Expanded language support: Session summaries, AI suggestions, and Ask Heidi commands now available in German and French.
  • Enterprise admins can now add standard footers to notes and documents, automatically including compliance, consent, or AI-disclosure language without manual entry by clinicians. Head to settings → Team settings → Security & compliance to activate.
  • Bulk team invitations: Invite multiple team members at once by entering comma-separated email addresses in the Teams tab, streamlining onboarding for new practices and departments.
  • Desktop App (Version 0.6.0):
    • Enhanced session management and template workflows with improved sharing and community features
    • Improved editor performance, navigation, and internationalisation support
  • iOS App (Version 1.4.2):
    • Enhanced template handling and mobile readability
    • Improved session recording and transcription for offline use

Squashed Bugs

  • Improved copy functionality - Fixed text copying to preserve formatting and markdown, like bold and italics, consistently across all note types and environments
  • EHR Widget improvements - Fixed billing button functionality, improved error handling, and enhanced language localisation for integrated users
