Heidi Feature Updates coming in October
Welcome to your October release preview. All feature updates are organized by platform giving you 30 days to review features, plan internal communications, and ensure your team is ready before they go live.
We have updated our release cadence from 14 to 30 days, giving your IT and clinical teams time to prepare, train, and ensure compliance before changes go live.
This means all new features will be accessible to your organisation on Wednesday October 7th.

Keep every patient in one place
Now you’ll find Patients in the sidebar with patient history, medications, allergies, files and past sessions, so the full picture is ready before you start. Walk in feeling prepared.
At the end of each session, Heidi recommends updates to patient details, so records stay current with less manual upkeep.
Link sessions more easily to a Patient with an updated linking flow, to retain context from past visits. Available on Web and Desktop. Learn more.
Preview uploaded files without leaving your session
You can now preview files uploaded to a session's Context tab, so checking a referral or result doesn't mean leaving Heidi.
Start a session, click Context, attach a document, then click it to preview.
Quality of life improvements
- Heidi Web and Desktop now have an inactivity timeout, matching the mobile apps, for extra account security.
- Delete a transcript and its session independently, giving you finer control over what stays and what goes.
- Set how long transcripts are kept before automatic deletion, independent of your session retention settings.
- Evidence answers now end with key safety notes on every query, so the guidance you rely on always carries its caveats.
- As an Evidence chat nears its size limit, Heidi warns you, then blocks further input and offers to continue in a new chat that carries your recent context across, instead of silently failing to save.
- Canadian clinicians can now access HealthPathways Canada directly in Evidence, alongside the rest of your clinical sources.
Bug Fixes
Notes and editor
- "Sync changes" now asks for confirmation before regenerating over manually edited notes and documents.
- Pasting from external code editors now lands as parsed markdown instead of a code block.
- Tables now render correctly, and you can no longer accidentally delete a table's last row or column.
- List items now correctly follow your bullet formatting settings.
Sessions and templates
- New sessions are now always assigned to you.
- Sessions now sync correctly even if an audio upload fails.
- If a team template access error interrupts note generation, the template picker now reopens automatically.
- If a session fails to delete, it now reappears in your list with a clear explanation.
- You'll no longer be logged out for inactivity while a note is still generating.
Security and performance
- Chat export links now expire after a set time, and older non-expiring links no longer work.
- The audio level display now uses far less CPU and GPU while recording.
