About the Role

We ship atoms daily. Two million patient visits a week now run through what we ship, and health systems notice when a release wobbles.

This role owns the last mile: every change that reaches production arrives predictably, safely and with a paper trail that stands up to an enterprise compliance review. You'll be the person who makes shipping fast and shipping safely the same thing.

What You’ll Do

• Own the release calendar and cadence across Heidi's product surfaces, from web and mobile to EHR-connected enterprise deployments, so teams ship predictably and health system customers always know what's coming.

• Run release readiness and go/no-go: weigh test coverage, change size, dependency risk and prior incidents, then make the call alongside engineering leads. When the answer is no, you say so clearly and early.

• Serve as the single point of coordination for cross-team releases, pulling engineering, QA, security, support and customer-facing teams into one execution plan.

• Own change management for enterprise health system customers: release notes, customer comms, staged rollouts and the evidence trail that clinical safety and compliance reviews demand.

• Own change management for medical device compliance: work with our internal compliance team to ensure our release process is compliant with the regulations.

• Drive our DORA metrics, particularly change lead time and deployment frequency. These are core engineering health measures at Heidi, and you'll own moving them in the right direction without letting change failure rate move with them.

• Partner with platform engineers to sharpen the machinery of releasing: CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, canary and staged rollouts, and rollback paths that get tested before they're needed.

• Coordinate hotfixes and rollbacks when something breaks, then run the release retro and make sure the fix outlives the incident.

• Keep environments honest, ensuring staging reflects production and release branches stay clean across globally distributed teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience running software releases at a fast-moving SaaS company. A regulated environment (healthcare, fintech, clinical technology) is a strong plus.

• Technically fluent, even if you're not writing production code. You can read a pipeline, question a risk assessment and tell a sound rollback plan from a hopeful one.

• Deep working knowledge of CI/CD, observability tools, source control workflows, feature flagging and modern deployment patterns.

• A calm operator under pressure. Release day is your home turf, and people trust your judgment because you've earned it release after release.

• Fluent communication with both engineers and enterprise customers. You translate technical risk into language a health system CIO can act on.

• A bias for velocity paired with the discipline enterprise healthcare demands. Process should make shipping faster, and you cut it when it doesn't.

• Comfort with data: you track release KPIs, spot the bottleneck in the numbers and bring evidence to the go/no-go table.

Other Things to Know

• This role is in-office in Sydney or Melbourne. We believe in the energy and focus of being in the room together.

• You'll coordinate releases across a significant timezone gap with our product and engineering teams in Australia.

• You'll work closely with the Head of Engineering, and other engineering leaders and have real influence over how Heidi ships globally.
