The pain is located in the right lower quadrant and is described as sharp and constant. The patient reports nausea and has vomited twice. She denies any fever, diarrhea, or urinary symptoms. The pain is aggravated by movement and alleviated slightly by lying still. The patient has a history of appendicitis and is currently taking ibuprofen for chronic back pain. Physical Examination: Vital Signs: Temperature: 37.8°C, Heart Rate: 98 bpm, Blood Pressure: 130/85 mmHg, Respiratory Rate: 18 breaths/min, Oxygen Saturation: 98% on room air. General Appearance: The patient appears in moderate distress due to pain. HEENT: Normocephalic, atraumatic. Pupils equal, round, and reactive to light. Oropharynx clear. Cardiovascular: Regular rate and rhythm, no murmurs, rubs, or gallops. Respiratory: Clear breath sounds bilaterally, no wheezes, rales, or rhonchi.
