**Procedure** **Right Ankle Reduction and Splinting** • Patient presented with a displaced fracture-dislocation of the right ankle. • Procedure performed under conscious sedation with Fentanyl 50 mcg IV and Midazolam 2 mg IV. • Manual reduction performed using traction-countertraction technique. • Audible clunk noted with improved alignment on fluoroscopy. • Post-reduction X-rays confirmed acceptable alignment. • Ankle immobilised in a posterior splint with appropriate padding. • Neurovascular status assessed before and after reduction, found to be intact. Post-Procedure Plan: • Discharge home with crutches, strictly non-weight-bearing on the right ankle. • Follow-up with orthopaedics within 3-5 days for definitive management. • Prescription for Ibuprofen 400mg three times daily for pain, as needed. • Patient instructed on signs of neurovascular compromise and when to return to ED. Advice: • Keep the splint dry and clean. • Elevate the right ankle above heart level as much as possible to reduce swelling. • Apply ice packs to the splinted area for 20 minutes every 2-3 hours for the first 48 hours. • Do not attempt to remove or adjust the splint yourself. • Contact orthopaedics or return to the Emergency Department if experiencing increased pain, numbness, tingling, pallor, or inability to move toes.
